You might first discover Big Sur through the iconic photos of the rugged coastline along Bixby Bridge on Highway 1. Of course, there’s so much more to Big Sur than that classic drive (though we highly recommend it). From McWay Falls and Garrapata State Park to the Keyhole Arch and purple sand on Pfeiffer Beach to the surprise whale sightings and majestic California Condors soaring overhead, Big Sur is a treasure trove of natural wonders. This abundant wild beauty also makes Big Sur a beloved hiking destination for hikers of all levels. The area’s dining scene attracts foodies from around the world who seek award-winning fine dining at Sierra Mar and breathtaking views at Nepenthe. Come to Big Sur and immerse yourself in nature’s grandeur less than an hour from Kimpton Mirador.
